2012 marked a big year for Angel when with the support of her community and all of Canada she won the Scotia Bank Game Changers contest – a win that supported her favorite Children’s charity – Variety.
The Scotia Bank Game Changers competition was designed to recognize individuals who showed leadership and who also make a difference in their community’s health, education, social services, arts, sports and the environment.
Winning the Scotia Bank Game Changers competition, was an exciting time for Angel! It really encouraged her to be recognized for all her hard work. Angel donated all $100,00 to Variety- the children’s charity. That was a lot of money but Angel is still determined to keep helping sick kids and will continue fundraising for Variety and looking for ways to support children who need help.
Angel wasn’t alone in being recognized though! Many great Canadian heroes were a part of that competition raising funds for other charities including;
Curtis Hargrove, Stollery Children’s Hospital
Austin Grayston, Alberta Youth in Care & Custody Network
Erin Fogarty, Street Culture Kids Incorprated
Ian Rabb, Two Ten Recovery Inc.
Shane Eickmann, GlobalMedic
Anne Marie Batten, Street Health
Judy Stevens, Share the Warmth
Having the chance to work with the BC Lions to make a difference meant the world to Angel! She can’t thank them enough!
